Info Post
Have you ever wondered how fast a cupcake travels when it’s shot from a high-powered cannon? Neither had we, and yet, our Google Places team in Austin, Texas, had a great time finding out at this weekend’s Cupcake Smackdown 3.0.

More than 1,500 frosting connoisseurs flocked to the Hops and Grain brewery on Saturday to sample delicious cupcakes from some of the city’s top vendors, drink complimentary beer from many up and coming local breweries, and visit tasty food trailers. But the real highlight of the day was the cannon: For a $10 donation to Keep Austin Dog Friendly, you could shoot the victim of your choice with a cupcake to the face. Now that’s what we call FAST food!

Attendees also got a chance to stop by the Google Places booth, where three reviews and a picture in the Google Places photo booth by Annie Ray earned them an entry in a drawing for a $100 Salt Lick gift card. And the winner was Bobb X Ha, who reviewed Kebabalicious, Maine Root, and La Mexicana Bakery to earn his prize. Congrats!
