Super heroes, super users, and super songs in Austin

It’s no secret that here at Google Places, we think our power users — the users who are most active on Places, writing reviews and connecting in our online communities — are SUPER! In fact, our mascot Mr. Emoji even likens them to super heroes:

So with that in mind, we thought it was only fitting to invite our Austin Power Users to a Superhero Karaoke Party this past week at Ego’s Bar. Our guests and their friends got to enjoy complimentary super drinks from the Ego’s staff — such as the Captain America, Lone Ranger and Incredible Hulk — while other attendees took to the mic to belt out thematically chosen super songs!

Rounding out the evening was a super sweets table with goodies from Big Top Candy Shop,  including Wonder Woman’s lassos (licorice ropes), Kryptonite (green rock candy) and Spiderman’s webs (cotton candy). Needless to day, we all had a pretty super time!
