Info Post
This week we hosted our first Google Cocktail Mixer at Portland, Oregon’s, Star Bar. Owners Tamar and Josh welcomed our Google Places crew with an amazing happy hour menu and drink specials, including a mint vodka lemonade:

Our friends from the Oregon Ballet Theater, just across the street from Star Bar, joined us before their dress rehearsal performance of Song & Dance, a ballet choreographed by a variety of rock stars, including Sebastian Bach (Skid Row) and The Bloodhound Gang.

Kim Miller from OBT, above right in both pics, shared with us some of her favorite Portland spots:

  • The Slammer Tavern: Great drinks and a local favorite to play Buck Hunter.
  • Victory Wine Bar: The best Spaetzle in the Portland, aka German mac & cheese with toasted shallots and breadcrumbs. Available with bacon too.
  • Laurelhurst Market: One of Portland’s most notable NW organic dining experiences.

And Ken Brady from Wieden + Kennedy, above far left, shared some of his favorites too:

  • Shigezo: Spectacular sushi and the most elaborate and comfortable tatami rooms.
  • East Burn: Gourmet NW cuisine, super friendly staff, outdoor patio with a retractable roof and giant swings, skee ball and big screens. They also host regular beer & food tastings.
  • Baan Thai: In a city full of great Thai food, the Pad Kee Mao here is the best.
  • Bonfire Lounge: Some of the best staff and happy hour food in SE Portland.
Above left, Anna and Mack recommend the Lola as their favorite drink at Star Bar.
Thank you to everyone who came out and shared with us some of their favorite places! If you missed us at Star Bar, stay tuned to @GooglePDX on Twitter to find out when you can catch us at our next event.
