Info Post
Editor’s Note: Now and then we'll spotlight one of our amazing Google Places reviewers. Both so you guys can start to get to know one another and so we can pull together and share our favorite local places. This week we introduce you to Fausto Palazzetti of New York City.

To find out more about our community activities in New York, follow us on Twitter or Facebook

Fausto lives in Chelsea, works in Midtown, and likes to hang out in the West Village, Chinatown and TriBeCa. In his spare time, he likes to go out and experience the culture of the City. He also dabbles in photography, gadgets, and travels whenever he can. Plus, lucky for us, he also likes to eat --- anything!

How long have you lived in New York City & why did you move here?
I've been living here for about two and a half years now. I moved here because I've always wanted to be a part of the city. I love the fact that one can be surrounded by people, and yet totally alone. There's always something going on here, and no matter what you're looking for, you'll find it here. And then there's the food, there are so many amazing restaurants here, you can eat at a different one every day, and you'll never go to the same one twice.

Share an ultimate insider tip for New York City:
1) Never pass a long line on the sidewalk without asking "Whats going on here?"
2) Also: Tourists on the left, New Yorkers on the right.

What's your favorite thing about sharing reviews on Places?
Its a great opportunity to share your experiences with other people, and maybe impart a bit of wisdom. I also like the fact that its a way for me to document my travels and jot down some of my thoughts at the time - things I might forget later.

If you were going to draw a Google Doodle, what would it look like?
An endlessly looping Mandelbrot set. It would have the same impact on work productivity as the Pac Man doodle.

What's your favorite Google event you've been to and why?
I really enjoyed the Dim Sum Om-Nom- Nom event. It was also my first Google event. There was so much food, and I met a lot of awesome people.

Mmm, we love Dim Sum. Care to share some more of your local favorites with us?

Washington Square Park - This is my favorite spot in the city. It’s great to come here, and stop and just watch life going on all around you.

Bianca - This is my favorite Italian food next to mom's. Simple, cheap, and delicious; this is what Italian food should be. They don't take reservations, so you might have to wait a while to get your table, but it will be worth it.

Artichoke Basille's Pizza - What can I say? It is an East Village staple, you must come here at least once. There's usually a line halfway down the block, but don't worry, it moves fast. This is a great place to pick up a slice after a night of drinking. It's also one of the few Sicilian slices you can find in this town where Neapolitan rules. The namesake Artichoke slice is certainly the best, especially if you're a fan of cheese, and in a close second is a slice of the margarita. Don't forget while you're in there to take a look around at the details of the spot, especially the leg lamp from "A Christmas Story."

Buddakan - This is an amazing Asian fusion restaurant in the Meatpacking District. The interior of this space is amazing, and you will spend most of your time just staring with your mouth open. Then the food comes and its equally amazing. The food here isn't cheap but it certainly is worth it. This is a great place to entertain friends, and really experience fine NYC dining at its best.

Prosperity Dumpling - I LOVE Prosperity Dumpling... yes, its not in the world's best neighborhood, its not the cleanest place I've ever seen, and there's hardly any room to sit down... but that's not what you come for. It is $1 for 5 dumplings, it is fast service, and its delicious. If there is a place that specializes in a few key items, then you know they will be made well. Prosperity Dumpling is quintessentially Chinatown, and you won’t leave disappointed.
