Yesterday, we made a visit to the National Karaoke League’s two Austin, Texas, Divisions. In addition to handing out Google Places earplugs (a karaoke bar necessity), singers got to hear all about how they could rate their Best Ever local businesses just like they rate their favorite performances during the weekly karaoke competition.
At the Downtown Austin division, The King himself was on hand to pump up the crowd, and he even gave a hunka hunka burning love to the host bar Ego’s with a lip-curling 5-star review!
Up in the North Austin Division, the Village People turned out to rally the crowd with the karaoke classic YMCA. One of their favorite Places features is being able to search within their friends reviews, as they all agree that the cop had the best reviews of doughnut shops.
However, the night really hit a high note when we announced the NKL Google Places Challenge. The deal: The crooner who racks up the most reviews over the next week will win a $50 gift card to The Highball, one of the top-rated businesses on Google (likely for its wildly designed private karaoke rooms and classic cocktails).
