New profile: When you click on a friend's name on Google Places, you'll now be able to see all their ratings and reviews. The profile comes complete with a larger profile photo (that’s right, if you haven’t uploaded a photo yet — get on it!), number of Best Evers, and a pretty ratings distribution graph (find out if your pals are generous or stingy with their ratings).
Upload a photo: When you’re rating and reviewing using our handy desktop app for Google Places, and you see a place without a photo (or if we only have Street View imagery), you can now upload a photo of your own — just like you can on Place pages. Hit “upload a photo” on the card, and once approved, the photo will appear publicly on the Place page:
New default search: When you first check out the desktop app, we now default your searches to unrated restaurants (the most popular rating category so far). This should help you find recent restaurants you may have visited. Of course, you can still type in any category to find more places to rate and review!
