Info Post
On one recent Saturday, Google New York teamed up with My Upper West and headed uptown to Manhattan’s Symphony Space, where we enjoyed a screening of the John Hughes classic ‘Weird Science.’

That’s me, Esther, getting ready to hand out free tickets to Weird Science

A multi-disciplinary performing arts center, Symphony Space’s mission is “to offer artistic leadership that promotes innovation, excellence, engagement, and accessibility to artists and audiences alike.” With that in mind, Symphony Space curates many different interesting arts experiences, including the John Hughes film series that we enjoyed.

Movie lovers at Symphony Space’s Thalia Cafe

After revelling in the sheer hilarity of the technological implausibilities in the wonderful 1985 film, we invited over 100 John Hughes enthusiasts to Symphony Space’s Thalia Cafe to mix, mingle and learn about Google Places.

While at Thalia Cafe, we made sure to tell everyone all about our upcoming community activities and where they can find us around town-- and, as always, we showed them how to rate and review places from the Google Places mobile app.

We want to thank everyone who came out to Symphony Space on what was one VERY hot Saturday night in the City! We had a great time, and we hope you did, too.

Missed us at Symphony Space? Be sure to sign-up for our forthcoming weekly newsletter, or follow us on Twitter or Facebook to stay in the know!
