As the seconds ticked down on the final minutes of the recent Google Places “Knights of the Wing Table” challenge in Austin, the focus was all on one man. Chase Norris, a University of Texas Public Affairs grad student, was closing in on his goal of 37 wings, while the crowd cheered him on.
And when the clock hit zero, Chase stood victorious—and quite full!
Emceed by professional competitive eater Hungry Todd Rungy, our wing eating competition at Pluckers Wing Bar challenged attendees to try to eat as many wings as they had reviews on Google Places. Three eaters succeeded in this throwdown: Rachel aka Manny (consuming 24 wings, with 22 Places reviews), Dan-the-Man (consuming 27 wings, with 27 Places reviews), and our champion Stuff-Yo-Face Chase, who consumed 37 wings to match his 37 Places reviews.
Congrats to all our competitors, and don’t forget to review your favorite wing joints on Places!
