For those who may not be familiar, Smorgasburg is Brooklyn Flea's weekly food market, held every Saturday at the Williamsburg waterfront. Vendors gather weekly to sell various artisanal food products. There's also a Greenmarket with five to 10 farmers, as well as packaged and prepared foods, and other food-related vendors (kitchen utensils, housewares).
On a recent Saturday, we headed out to Smorgasburg to do a food giveaway. Visitors stopped by to review their favorite spots on Google Places and we handed out vouchers redeemable for numerous tasty treats, including macaroons from Danny Macaroons, bubble tea from Thirstea Cafe, taquitos from Cemita’s, sundaes from Rob & Anna’s, turkey chili from The Brooklyn Bean Co. and more!
If you ever make it out to Smorgasburg, stop by Bon Chovie. Apart from having an awesome name, their twice-friend potatoes are delicious! |
It was a very windy day — so windy we had to keep our Chromebooks from blowing away! — but that didn’t stop people from coming out and enjoying yummy nibbles like these:
Braised pork belly buns from Bite Size Kitchen |
We had a terrific day out and we only wish we’d had enough time to try all the delectable offerings. But that’s okay, it gives us a good reason to return!
