Info Post
Every year, AD 2 San Diego, a networking organization made up of folks in the advertising, marketing and communications community, get together for a pub crawl in San Diego. So Google Places stormed Pacific Beach with a crew of about 30 young entrepreneurs to scope new bars and restaurants, and show them how to rate, review & recommend local spots using Places.

We started the tour at the TapRoom for appetizers and happy hour specials, then set sail for The Tavern just a couple of blocks down Garnet. At each stop, we demo’ed how to review the place using the Places app for Android-powered phones and iPhones. For a complete list of crawl locations, check out this Google custom map.

Attendees donned nautical wear in the spirit of the night’s theme: “Boats ‘N Hos,” from the movie Step Brothers:

At left, San Diego CM Megan with AD2SD Secretary of State Stephanie and President Gary.

But by the time we dropped anchor in Cabo Cantina, everyone had added Places swag to their outfits.

Needless to say, the Places tube socks were a hit.

The crawl continued on for another three stops, including Bub’s Dive, Pacific Beach Bar & Grill, and finally reaching port at Moondoggies. User Coryf2 reviewed all the locations on the (longer-than-three-hour) tour.

Eventually, the crawl had to come to an end, but to keep the festivities going, AD2SD is giving away a Flip Cam to the member who writes the most quality reviews on Google. Good luck, mateys! And a big thank to everyone who came out:
