Some background: Coni moved to Portland from Phoenix in ’97 to escape the heat and trade for a cooler and greener climate. She loves experiencing good food and drink with her husband, and going to bars or restaurants to talk about life. A bit of a rocker, she likes to catch shows of up-and-coming bands in smaller venues, where the band really feeds off the crowd’s excitement.
Share an ultimate insider tip for your city.
My favorite corner is East Burnside and 28th Avenue. In walking distance from that corner is Music Millennium, Laurelhurst Theater, Bamboo Sushi, Tabla and tons of other great places I haven't visited yet.
What's your favorite thing about sharing reviews on Places?
It is quick and easy to add a review.
Do you have any secret talents?
My head is filled with useless pop culture nonsense.
What's your favorite Google event you've been to and why?
I loved the Brewvana bus. It was a good way to talk to all the other people there while we visited all the different bars.
Tell us about some of your Best Evers.
Beast: My favorite restaurant, but can't afford to go to it too often. I love that the menu is pre-determined and usually has something on it that I have never had before. It is almost always delicious. I like to be adventurous with my food, and this gives me the perfect opportunity.
Edgefield: It is my favorite place to hang out in the Portland area when we hit our first sunny day in Spring. Love walking around the grounds having a variety of beers, wine or cocktails. Love it so much, I got married there.
Meat for cats and dogs: Everyone that works here is friendly and helpful. When we were switching to raw food, they were great giving us free samples until we found out what our cats would eat since they can be picky.
Academy Theater: Love the beer theater, and the pizza from Flying Pie Pizza from next door is delicious.
