Info Post
Editor’s Note: Now and then we'll spotlight one of our amazing Google Places reviewers. Both so you guys can start to get to know one another and so we can pull together and share our favorite local places. This week we introduce you to Brian Bolduc of Portland, Oregon.

To find out more about our community activities in Portland, visit us at google.com/portland or follow us on Twitter at @GooglePDX.

Some background: Brian recently moved to Mount Angel, where he lives for now as he and his fiancee decide where to settle down. He works in downtown Portland and she teaches in Silverton, so they’re looking for a place in between. With a history full of memories in New England and at OSU, his primary hobbies consist of sports and beer.

What's your favorite thing about sharing reviews on Places?
I mostly love telling other people about places that I've found and really liked. I'm always trying to find a new place that I think I might like, or others have enjoyed in the past. I feel like Google Places should be about sharing experiences to promote local businesses. There are so many great places in Portland that it's nice to be able to go somewhere where I can find them.

What's your favorite Google event you've been to and why?
I was lucky enough to go on a Brewvana beer tour with Google and it was a blast. We stopped at four bars/brewpubs and sampled beer and food at each stop. Ashley from Brewvana was a wonderful host and made the tour a lot of fun. The people from Google were great and very generous for taking us on such a great tour.

Share an ultimate insider tip for your city.
It's not that much of a secret, but some of the best food in the city is made in our food carts. We have the best cart food in the country — if not the world — and I wholeheartedly encourage people to forget any stereotypes or stigmas they may have heard about food carts and try one. If I had to make a top five list of places to get lunch while at work, at least three would be food carts.

Tell us about some of your Best Evers.

Saraveza: This is my favorite place to get a beer in Portland. The staff and people there are always super friendly and willing to chat. The decor, selection of bottles to-go and tap line-up together just can't be beat. My only wish is that it was located further south so I could frequent it more often.

The Swamp Shack: I am a sucker for good jambalaya, and this place has the best in PDX. Awesome, authentic food from down south. I also had the crab cake sandwich which came with a side of jambalaya and both were delicious. Oh, and fried alligator and hushpuppies on Fridays!

Leaky Roof Pub & Grill: Don't let the facade fool you, this place serves some amazing food and drinks. A gastro-pub with a very warm and comfortable atmosphere, this is a perfect place to camp out for hours on a dark and rainy day. They also feature some of the best happy hour food I have ever had.

American Dream Pizza: I basically lived off of American Dream while living in Corvallis. Imagine my surprise when I learned that their original location resided in Portland! Their pizza is simply awesome and loaded with fresh ingredients, and they always have a stellar lineup of craft beer. There are quite a few places in Portland with good beer and pizza, but this is the best.
