Info Post
Editor’s Note: Now and then we'll spotlight one of our amazing Google Places reviewers. Both so you guys can start to get to know one another and so we can pull together and share our favorite local places. This week we introduce you to Barbara Piermont of New York, New York.

To find out more about our community activities in New York, follow us on Twitter or Facebook.

A fellow Googler, Barbara was born in New York City and has been back for five years. She loves it for the same reasons that so many of us do: “It is the city that never sleeps. There are endless things to do here, no matter what your taste is.”

Can you share an ultimate insider tip for New York?
You can get cheap ($20–40 range) Broadway tickets to almost every show in town. Just go to Playbill for details on student/general rush and lottery policies.

What is your ultimate guilty pleasure?
Reality TV, the dumber the better.

What would your superpower be?
Pick the winning lottery numbers.

If you were going to draw a Google Doodle, what would it look like?
I have zero artistic skills but I would make a Valentine’s Day doodle because it’s my birthday. It would be black and white with a Paris theme. The "L" would be the Eiffel Tower. After all, Paris is the city of love.

Oui, oui! Care to share some of your local favorites with us?

Eleven Madison Park - Absolute Heaven! It is easy to see why Eleven Madison Park was voted one of the 50 best restaurants in the world and completely deserves its 5 star accolade. I love the decor and open feeling of the restaurant. The first time we went we were celebrating my birthday. They gave us a cozy table that was tucked away and even printed "Happy Birthday" on the menu. To say the service is perfection would be an understatement. They ironed the table cloths on the tables, and we were never for want of anything during our three-hour dinner. The sommelier was very knowledgeable and so helpful when we were selecting our wine. They offer a four-course prixe fixe or tasting menu. I assure you, the four courses are more than sufficient, especially when you add the amuse-bouche and extra petit four before dessert. They noticed we really like dessert so they gave us two of each. Then, before we left, we were given a boxed treat to remember our meal the next day. The price is steep, four courses is $125, but you won’t regret it one bit. If you are in the mood to celebrate, break open the piggy bank and head over to Eleven Madison Park. Just make sure you make that reservation at least a month in advance.

16 Handles - Imagine 16 different flavors of froyo and sorbet to mix and match as you please. Combine that with ~30 toppings and the flavor combinations are endless. This place is made for “Type A” New Yorkers who are just itching to do-it-themselves. The worst part about this place is trying not to eat it before you pay (you pay by the weight) and the lines can be looong. Trick of the trade: Get your toppings first and put the froyo on top so it doesn't melt.

Chikalicious Puddin’ - Chikalicious is a dessert-only restaurant in the East Village. Few people know of this quaint dessert bar tucked away off 2nd Avenue, and therein lies the charm. It seats 15 at a time, so expect at least a 30-minute wait during prime sweet hours. Lucky diners will get a seat at the bar where you can watch the owner, Chika, delicately plate each dish with absolute precision. For $14 you get a three-course dessert menu — appetizer, entree and dessert, which change daily. Wine pairings are also available. So pull up a stool and prepare yourself for a dessert tasting like no other.

Yankee Stadium - Brava to the team that designed the new Yankee Stadium. This stadium is a thing of sheer beauty for baseball fans. The stadium is clean, large, and every seat in the house is a good one. They moved the seats in a lot closer so you really feel like you are on top of the action, just watch out for fly balls. There is a wide variety of typical and a-typical ballpark food- think sushi, a fresh fruit market, and candy stand. One downfall is that everything is expensive from the food to the tickets. If you can get the cheaper decks or bleachers you will pay ~$20, but lower levels are in the $100 range with floor seats more than $1k (at least they throw in free food with those). For a diehard Yankee fan like me, you try to forget what you paid and just enjoy a fabulous game while decked out in pinstripes.

Capitale - I had my wedding here and could not have been happier with how it went. The people were an absolute pleasure to deal with and I love the coordinators that worked with us the day of the event to ensure that everything went off without a hitch. The getting rooms were fabulous and made for some great pictures (girls had a red room, boys a dark leather–filled one). The actual space is magnificent. The ceilings were ~80 feet high and they let us drape curtains from the ceiling lights. Capitale was an old bank and they use the original vault as their office. This makes a great backdrop for where the band sets up. There is an amazing catwalk that we came down from for our entrance to the party. Afterward, we used the bridal room for an after party where they had a DJ booth overlooking the crowd. My event was perfect in large part to Capitale.
