The shiny metal ball. The click of the flippers. The score multiplying into the millions. Face it: there’s nothing like pinball to jazz up an otherwise ordinary evening!

So this past week, our Austin Places team invited some of our most active Places reviewers (plus two guests of their choice) to the Pinballz Arcade for our July Power User Party. Our guests were treated to the largest collection of pinball games in the entire Southwest!

Of course, man cannot live by pinball alone, so we also invited our friends from the Peached Tortilla to serve up some of their delicious bahn mi sliders, pad thai and catfish tacos, and sweet potato fries for a little energy boost between games. And since the delicious Asian-Texan fusion can make even the most seasoned gamer thirsty, we also had beverages on hand from Abita Beers and Live Oak Brewing to help all our attendees 1-up to their heart’s content.

A mountain of free game tokens, a temporary tattoo station, and Google gift bags capped off the fun, with photographer Jonathan Garza snapping shots to record all the action. We had a great time interacting with all our most prolific Places users, including the ones we met last month, and all the many new faces in the mix.

If you want an invite to our next power user event, make sure you’ve signed up for the Google Austin newsletter, and then get reviewing! The more high-quality, well-written reviews you share, the more likely you are to get an invite. We’re already planning our August event, and trust us, you won’t want to miss it.

For more photos of the event, please visit Jonathan Garza’s website, or connect with us on Twitter and Facebook for other upcoming events and giveaways.
