Some background: Lucas moved to Portland in 2009 from California for the bikes, the tech, the activism and the beer. He even appreciates the wet weather. He studies linguistics, enjoys copious amounts of coffee and is hoping to one day ride a unicycle and juggle at the same time. You may run into him in the Hosford-Abernethy neighborhood, or meet him at one of our Google Places events.
What's your favorite thing about sharing reviews on Places?
The brevity makes people get straight to the point and cut through the fluff; Google Places reviews are simple and elegant.
What's your favorite Google event you've been to and why?
The Game On party at Ground Kontrol. Awesome gaming, tasty beverages, and everyone in attendance is exactly the kind of people I want to hang out with.
Name some of your Best Evers and why.
Pok Pok: Absolute favorite place in town. Nothing makes me happier than a steaming bowl of their noodle soup. God, it’s good. And the forest mushrooms. And the ... oh, I'll just stop now.
Backspace: Without Backspace, I realize, I would like Portland a heck of a lot less. This is where everything cool about the city comes together. The coffee, the music, the vegan-friendly, the tech, and the beer.
Speakeasy: One of my top five. Cheap and there’s pool! There's also WiFi, couches, and seating galore. Plus, they even have some food that neither sucks nor costs a lot. Aces!
