Info Post
Editor’s Note: Now and then we'll spotlight one of our amazing Google Places reviewers. Both so you guys can start to get to know one another and so we can pull together and share our favorite local places. Today we introduce you to Ann Nguyen of Austin, Texas.

You have an amazing number of reviews! How long have you lived in Austin?

I have lived in Austin for about five years now and this is my second time back. I originally moved here to finish up some school and had planned to leave once I was done. What the heck was I thinking? Austin is the best city to live in!

So what do you like to do around town (when you’re not reviewing on Google Places, of course)?

Throughout the year, I am volunteering for the Texas Dragon Boat Association, getting teams ready for race day. I’m usually doing behind the scenes tasks such as website and graphic work.

Besides graphic design work, do you have any other secret talents?

I could be considered a modern day Renaissance (Wo)Man. I am pretty good at making/doing things digitally or using paper, fabric, baking supplies, etc. Need a 6-foot sparkling rainbow unicorn and a peanut butter cheesecake? No problem! Hand me some glitter, X-Acto knife and a mixing bowl!

You’ll have to let us try some of that cheesecake at the next Google Places event in Austin. Which event has been your favorite so far?

I'm torn. The BBQ Bus was pretty amazing. Who wouldn't want to be driven around Austin and fed delicious BBQ all day? But the most recent Google Places Power User event at Pinballz (with yummy food from Peached Tortilla) was also a blast. I had no idea how much fun playing pinball could be. Both events were paired off with great beer and awesome people!

We’re glad to hear it! Finally, can you share with us some of your Austin Best Evers?

Tomo Sushi - This place is amazing. I recommend eating at the bar because the sushi chefs are super nice and fun. Come early on a Friday/Saturday night though — they get packed and could run out of the good stuff.

Paramount Theatre - A great venue for shows. I saw Jim Gaffigan film his special a couple years ago and recently saw Kevin Smith's Red State showing. I would recommend getting orchestra seats if you can afford it since the balcony can be a bit cramped.

Draught House - Great selection of beer and a frequent place to meet up with friends without having to go downtown. The bartenders have always been great in picking out a beer to try.
