Editor’s Note: Now and then we'll spotlight one of our amazing Google Places reviewers. Both so you guys can start to get to know one another and so we can pull together and share our favorite local places. This week we introduce you to John Roche of Austin, Texas.

Do you have any secret talents?

I love singing and performing. I joined The National Karaoke League at Ego’s several years ago, and it has filled so much of that hunger.

So you’re an artist! If you could see any celebrity’s Places profile, who would you pick?

Courtney Love. She's unpredictable and her reviews would definitely be a giant show.

What's your favorite thing about sharing reviews on Places?

Google Places allows me to review in an honest way. I don't have to overthink it and try to create some fake image. It allows users to be real, and it's fun and easy. I love sharing experiences with others!

It shows — you’ve managed to rack up more than 600 reviews! Have any great insider tips for Austin?

Tamale House is the best in town for breakfast tacos. Seriously.

Finally, can you share with us some of your Austin Best Evers?

Perla’s - This is one of my favorite places to go! The food is always fresh, the service is usually better than normal, and they've created a really comfortable atmosphere. One of my favorite patios in town!

Vic’s BBQ - The brisket fell apart in my mouth! The beef ribs were GIGANTIC and delicious. The beans are hands down the best I've had in my life! The owner was very hospitable and it's clear that he loves what he does. I'll definitely be going back!

East Side Cafe - East Side Cafe is a routine destination spot for me. A lot of the food comes from the garden in the back. Great food, reasonable prices, and a comforting atmosphere.
