Due to transmission troubles (yikes!), we couldn’t take the actual Brewvana bus out and about again, so Brewvana owner Ashley Rose Salvitti hooked us up with another bus from A Great Oregon Wine Tour (thanks, guys!) and the voyage went onward:
Our first stop was The Guild Public House, a local bar that features a huge selection of craft brews. We also enjoyed some tasty BBQ sliders, which were the second favorite food of the evening. One user on the tour, who goes by Century on Google Places, had this to say about The Guild: “The beer selection was great. The Deschutes CDA was a treat. A rare dark beer that I really enjoy. The atmosphere was good as well. The food that we had was outstanding. The pulled pork sliders were a highlight.”
Next stop: Broadway Grill & Brewery in NE Portland, where we sipped on beers like Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride and the Belgian Trippel. Then we tried brews from Coalition Brewing while snacking on some grilled cheese sandwiches, which were the hands down favorite of the night, from The Grilled Cheese Grill. We were among the first to experience the new patio area at Coalition, and we were not at all disappointed. Google Places user Brian says, "The new back patio is a perfect place for summer beer drinking. And the grilled cheese grill is awesome!"
Stephanie wrote about the experience: “Yummy grilled cheeses, double decker bus dining area, and Coalition Brewing ... what's not to love? Definitely save room for the Jaime, a dessert grilled sammich. It's my favorite on the menu!”
Our last but not least stop was Laurelwood Public House and Brewery where we enjoyed their IPA and some special dessert treats. There was a big debate among the group about which was more delicious: the cheesecake-flavored miniature cupcake or the chocolate. Winner? Cheesecake.
A big thanks to everyone who joined and to Brewvana! If you missed us, be sure to sign up for our newsletter and review your favorite places on Google Places — the more great reviews you share, the better your chances of getting an invite to our next brewery tour, game night, or pub crawl.
